A few things you maybe didn’t know about afternoon tea-
It first arrived in Britain during the 1840s, when Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford complained of "having that sinking feeling" during the late afternoon.
The solution for the Duchess was a pot a tea and a light snack, taken privately in her boudoir during the afternoon.

 There has always been a debate as to whether to put cream or jam on your scone first. In Cornwall the jam is spread on first, in Devon the cream goes on first!
